Guest Services Manager, Full -Time, Exempt
The Guest Services Manager ensures that each visitor has a dynamic, immersive, fun experience that reflects the mission of Discovery Center Museum. This position requires a friendly, welcoming individual who enjoys engaging with children and families in a customer-facing environment. The Guest Services Manager supervises Discovery Guide Staff; ensures and supports sufficient staffing coverage in exhibit spaces and at the front desk; and supports day-to-day operations and special events. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and three years of supervisory experience
- Exceptional customer service skills and commitment to providing superior visitor experience
- Proficiency in scheduling, data management
- Ability to lead a diverse team
- Ability to display and use effective interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and collaborative spirit and interact at all levels of the Museum
- Proven effective presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
- At least three years of experience in a role that required a high degree of self-motivation, collaboration, organization, flexibility, and innovation
- Able to work in a fast-paced, active environment with the ability to adapt to change
Education Specialist, Full -Time, Exempt
Responsible for educational content of programs, classes, outreach, teacher workshops, exhibits. Works with youth volunteers to develop demonstrations, and to work in other capacities in museum. Discovery Guide, Part-Time
Discovery Guides play an integral role in the success of the Museum’s Mission by facilitating our exhibits, interacting with Guests of all ages, and maintaining our exhibits, all of which contribute greatly to the overall Guest experience at the Museum. Mobile Makerspace Facilitator, Part-Time
The Discovery Center Museum’s Mobile Makerspace After School Program is held at sites throughout the Rockford region. The Mobile Makerspace Facilitators will work offsite to implement the program activities to participants. The Mobile Makerspace Facilitators are responsible for facilitating engaging Maker activities with groups of children at local sites.

After School Program Group Leader, Part-Time
After School Program Group Leaders play an integral role in the success of the Museum’s After School Programs in local schools by providing consistent, positive leadership to participating students. Work-Study Opportunities
Work-Study positions are available to college students who are eligible for financial aid through the Federal Work-Study Program. Students from the following colleges may be eligible: Rockford University; Rasmussen College; and Northern Illinois University.
