Behind our masks, we are smiling from ear to ear as we open our doors and welcome families back. If you've previously been to our museum, your visit this time will seem a bit different that you are used to, but it will remain just as fun as before!
What to Expect
1. Plan for it.
Advance reservations required. Timed entry tickets for visit will help us regulate capacity and ensure a quality visit for your family. Choose from timed sessions:
Wednesday-Sunday: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm
Advance reservations required.. This will also allow us to have time to clean and sanitize in between timed visits. Schedule your visit now! Reservations can also be made online. If you have a Discovery Center coupon, gift certificate or reciprocal membership, please call to make reservations. Members must make online or phone reservations as well.
2. Staying safe and healthy together.
Remember to rock a mask! Grownups, children ages 2+, and Museum staff must wear masks that cover the nose and mouth to enter the Museum (face shields are not allowed unless worn with a mask covering the nose and mouth). Caregivers visiting with children who have medical conditions, ASD and similar processing differences are encouraged to let our staff know. Social distancing is a team effort. Finally, if a Museum staff member reminds you or someone in your group to wear a mask, please be kind and respectful. Our team members are trying to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Multiple requests may result in removal from the museum
3. Increased cleaning.
Our robust cleaning practices have gotten even more stringent! We have meticulously planned and implemented cleaning and safety procedures throughout our museum that protect the health and well-being of our guests and staff. We’re adhering to guidelines from our local health department, the CDC, and the Association of Children's Museums to ensure we are following the highest standards. You’ll see our staff cleaning with disinfectant throughout your visit and deeper cleaning will occur between each shift of guests and at the end of the day. Staff will disinfect surfaces, exhibits and “high touch” areas, like door handles and elevator buttons. Loose toys and manipulatives, such as play food and balls, will be rotated out with new sanitized sets for each timed visit.
4. What we ask of you.
We are committed to providing CLEAN, SAFE, PLAYFUL LEARNING at Discovery Center, but we need your help. Please follow this simple Guest Code of Conduct:
o Plan a different visit day if anyone in your family or group is not feeling well.
o Maintain proper social distancing from others not in your family or group.
o Wear a face mask covering over your nose and mouth. (Face shields are not allowed without a face mask covering the nose and mouth) If a Museum staff member reminds you or someone in your group to wear a mask, please be kind and respectful. Our team members are trying to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Multiple requests may result in removal from the museum
o Wash hands or use sanitizer often.
o Have all members of your family/group play in the same area.
If you decide not to visit after making a reservation, please contact our office at least one hour in advance of your reservation to let us know so we can allow another family to enjoy a visit.
5. Virtual learning continues.
