About the Role:
Discovery Center Museum is seeking energetic and creative individuals to join our team as Summer Interns. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about engaging with the public, especially children, and who enjoy creating a fun and educational environment. The Summer Interns will be key contributors to our summer programs and events, helping to ensure a memorable experience for our visitors.
As a Summer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic educational setting. This role provides an opportunity to work directly with children and develop skills in event planning, creativity, and teamwork. Additionally, you will have the chance to work alongside experienced educators and gain insight into museum operations.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent by the start of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in planning and implementing Family Friday events, including creating decorations and organizing activities that align with the weekly theme.
- Assist Discovery Center educators with special event planning and execution.
- Support additional camps and museum programs as needed.
- Design and lead special projects.
- Ensure specialty creative spaces are well-stocked and set up for daily activities.
Job Details:
- The internship timeframe is flexible from June through August.
- Work 20-30 hours per week with flexible scheduling. Must be available on Fridays from 9 AM to 4 PM.
- This is a paid position.
