Many rewarding and satisfying volunteer opportunities exist at Discovery Center. Our Volunteers make a difference in the community and enjoy many museum benefits. Learn about opportunities for teens, adults, and home schooled youth, corporations, groups, and college interns. Volunteers assist with Visitor Services, marketing, program presentation, exhibit maintenance and much more.
For youth, the Discovery Center offers the Youth Experiencing Science (YES) program. This program provides opportunities for children ages 12-17 to assist with event activities and interact with museum visitors. Hours are flexible to meet the needs of busy families! For more information on the YES program, contact YES Coordinator Lori Radean at 815-972-2839 email lorir@discoverycentermuseum.org, or download the YES application (PDF).
The Corporate Volunteer program is for corporate and business groups who wish to compliment their contribution to the community through Volunteer Service at the museum. Through volunteering at Discovery Center Museum we give corporate individuals the experience of working in a museum environment, show adults the self-fulfillment that comes from performing community service, and provide corporations an opportunity to work as a group to improve their community.
