Add this field trip to your visit to Robots: The Interactive Exhibit. In this hands-on class students will gain a greater appreciation for robotics and how robots make our lives easier. Learn about metal fatigue, compare your skills to that of a robot, and make a robot to compete against your friends! This field trip is only available from January 28, 2012 through April 29, 2012.

Use touch, sight, and hearing as exploration tools! Play under a black light, build structures from wood, create unusual sounds, explore peculiar liquids, and more! The station-based hands-on class is the perfect environment for kids to ask questions, discover answers, and experience science in fun new ways.

Grade 2-8
This re-designed class provides an overview of simple machines, and then makes use of activity stations for student-based experiments. Students get hands-on experience with content areas and process skills. Take part in a wheel-and-axle race; assemble a network of gears, design a pulley contraption, and test the strength of levers.

Get hands-on as you explore the properties of the electromagnetic spectrum in this stations-based class. Warp your vision using assorted colors, dissect a rainbow, experiment with invisible light, and bend and bounce radiant beams in this “enlightening” class that makes learning fun!
