Girl Scout Overnights

Spend the night at Discovery Center! Select from our scheduled dates and below or invent your own overnight adventure with a Private Camp-In (call 815-972-2843 to schedule your private overnight). We may combine your group with another to meet minimum numbers. Purchase your tickets as soon as you are able; some events will sell out.

Ticket sales close one week prior to event.

Fees: $30 per child / $15 per adult. Fee includes all activity materials, evening snack, morning breakfast; scouts receive Discovery Center Museum patch. Scout awards not included.

Scholarships: If you think you may be eligible for a scholarship, contact Meghan Richards at scouts@discoverycentermuseum.org or call 815-972-2843. Scholarships are based on a child’s eligibility for a school’s free or reduced lunch program.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds are available up to one week prior to event. Discovery Center reserves the right to cancel events; in which case, a full refund will be issued.

Engineer a Fling Flyer and delve into aeronautics as you experiment with Bernoulli’s Principle and Newton’s Laws of Motion!  Discover the ins and outs of pressure with your own submarine!

 

Mystery Crime Lab: Friday 1/11/2019 (Camp Full)

Put on your detective hat and use forensic science to solve this case! Examine fingerprints, take apart ink, crack a code, measure footprints, and more.

Fire up your imagination to experiment with momentum, kinetic and potential energy, and the forces of physics! Work with a team to build a roller coaster thrill ride and engineer a racecar to take home!
