Discovery Center “breaks” Spring Break attendance records

Rockford, IL – There were so many people at Discovery Center on Thursday, people had to wait to get in until other visitors left. A Spring Break attendance record was set Thursday with 1,394 people enjoying the exhibits, live science shows and art activities at Discovery Center Museum. The previous record was set in 2006 during with 1,385 visitors.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday also set records for Spring Break attendance in the Museum’s 27-year history with 804 visitors on Monday; 932 on Tuesday; and 1,109 on Wednesday.

As of Noon today, Friday, March 28, over 500 people were playing, exploring and creating inside the Museum and outdoors in the science park. Many of the visitors came from outside Rockford and are first-time visitors to Discovery Center.

Hours of operation are: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and Noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
