The Science of Spring Break Fun!

Rockford, IL – Spring Break is upon us. For families looking for fun activities, Discovery Center Museum is the perfect place. In addition to 200 hands-on exhibits, news studio, art studio, planetarium and a fantastic outdoor wooden park, there will be special art activities, science demonstrations and more during the week of March 24-28.

While at Discovery Center, visitors can explore the Museum’s latest traveling exhibit Spin: The Science of Rotation which invites visitors to explore the fun – and science – of objects that rotate!

SPRING BREAK WEEK, MARCH 24-28, 2008
* PLANETARIUM SHOWS: 1:00 and 3:00 pm
* FREE SCIENCE DEMOS (approx.15-minutes) 11:30 and 2:00 pm in theater
* HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES (kites, crowns, tanagrams) 11:00 am -3:00 pm
* SPIN exhibition – open during regular museum hours

The art studio will be open all week. On Messy Monday visitors will create spin art, and the rest of the week we’ll feature fun spring art projects.

Hours of operation are: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and Noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
