Celebrate 25 Years of Discovery with Discovery Center Museum!

ROCKFORD, IL – Join the Discovery Center Museum as it celebrates 25 years of discovery! This year marks the 25th anniversary of Discovery Center Museum and plans are underway for a spectacular party. The Discovery Corps, the Volunteer Auxiliary of the museum, is hosting the Discovery Center Gala 2006, 25 Years of Discovery on Saturday June 24 from 7-11 pm at the Rockford Country Club. Everyone is invited to join the staff, friends and supporters of Discovery Center as we reflect on the past 25 years of the museum’s history and look ahead to its future expansion.

President of the Discovery Corps, Lynn Moczynski said, “We are very pleased to be involved with the museum at such an exciting time in its history. This will be a wonderful celebration for all the people who helped make this fantastic organization what it is today.” Attendees can dance to the music of the Dean Moriarty Jazz Band, enjoy sumptuous food, a lavish Silent Auction, raffle drawing and magical entertainment. Program ads are available for purchase. All proceeds benefit educational programs and exhibits at the Museum. Tickets are $85 per person and sponsor tables for ten are available for $850. Discovery Center Museum, one of the Nation’s 10 Best Children’s Museums as cited by Child magazine, is located inside Riverfront Museum Park at 711 North Main Street, Rockford, Ill. General admission to the Museum is $5 adults, $4 children (ages 2 to 17) and free to children under 2 years and Museum members. Hours of operation are: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday; Thursday until 7p.m. (summer only); and Noon to 5 p.m., Sunday.
